Onosato thrust out Aonishiki in the winner-takes-all final and took the championship at 12-3, his sixth and first in a year; Aonishiki finished 11-4. Kirishima threw Kotozakura for 8-7 and a winning record; Kotozakura is 9-6. Fujinokawa beat Atamifuji by scoop throw for 11-4, Atamifuji 8-7. Minoumi pushed out Daieisho for 10-5. Takayasu lost to Fujiryoga's scoop throw for 7-8. Asanoyama was forced down by Yoshinofuji and Kotobukinofuji forced out by Hiradoumi, both missing conditional prizes. Wakamotoharu was pushed out by Gonoyama for 10-5 and Ura forced out Tobizaru for 10-5. Fighting Spirit prizes went to Fujinokawa and Minoumi; no Outstanding Performance or Technique prize. In juryo Kitanowaka, Kagayaki and Kayo tied at 11-4 and Kitanowaka won the playoff for his first title. Inami (makushita), Kobayashi (sandanme) and Ten (jonidan) went 7-0, and Joshoyu won jonokuchi at 6-0.
