The yokozuna won the battle of the one-loss men: Onosato pushed out Minoumi for 6-1, Kotozakura slapped down Fujiryoga for 6-1, and the one-loss group is now just the yokozuna and the ozeki. Aonishiki forced out Atamifuji to go 4-3, leaving Atamifuji 5-2. Kirishima beat Gonoyama by arm-pull for 5-2 and Fujinokawa pushed out Daieisho for 5-2; Hakunofuji was forced down by Kotoshoho and is 1-6. Among the rank and file, Shodai slapped down Ura, Ichiyamamoto forced down Nishikifuji and Shonannoumi threw Fukenoh, so all three 0-6 men won at last. Kotobukinofuji was forced out by Oho and Asanoyama fell to Fujiseiun's slap-down, both taking a second loss. After seven days ten men are 5-2: Kirishima, Atamifuji, Fujinokawa, Asanoyama, Ura, Minoumi, Roga, Fujiseiun, Kinbozan and Kotobukinofuji. In juryo Kayo is 7-0; in sandanme Naya is 4-0.
