DAY 2 REVIEW
Day 2, and again the drama centered on a yokozuna. Onosato, beaten on Day 1, fell once more — pushed down by maegashira Fujinokawa for a second straight defeat, a rough start for a former champion who slips off the early pace. The other yokozuna, Hoshoryu, held firm, throwing Takanosho to keep his perfect start. The rest of the upper ranks were rock-solid: yokozuna-hopeful ozeki Kirishima, ozeki Kotozakura, and sekiwake Aonishiki (chasing an ozeki return) all stayed unbeaten, joined by sekiwake Atamifuji and Kotoshoho. Among the rank and file, former ozeki Takayasu, along with the in-form Hakunofuji, Fujiseiun, Wakanosho and Abi, also remain perfect. The two yokozuna head in opposite directions early — the momentum belongs to Hoshoryu and a resurgent sanyaku.
