A sekiwake from Fukushima, of the Arashio stable. He debuted at sandanme-tsukedashi in March 2017, reaching Juryo in seven tournaments and Makuuchi in sixteen, and has been a fixture of the upper division since first reaching sanyaku in 2021. In May 2026 he captured the Makuuchi championship with a 12-3 record at komusubi — at 183 cm and 138 kg, one of the smallest men in the division, winning it all in his thirties.

Peak rating: 1564 (2025-07 basho). Career total: 753 bouts, 415W 258L (61.7% win rate).Last tournament (2026-05) he went 12-3 at Komusubi — a strong winning record. He has now posted 3 consecutive winning tournaments. He enters as a newly promoted Sekiwake.
